Since the fateful night, Jayme Closs has been on the mind of the nation. A 911 call was placed from Denise Closs’s cellphone, alerting Barron County Police that the Closs family needed help. Once law enforcement arrived, they found Denise and James Closs murdered, and their young daughter, a 13-year-old teen, had vanished.
For eighty-eight days, the public and law enforcement didn’t know where Jayme was. However, she vanished. The police would not give up on the case. They would find the young girl. No matter what.
This is Jayme Closs! Call 911!
After being held captive for eighty-eight days, the teenager escaped, breaking free from her captor.
A woman walking her dog discovered the teen. After Ms. Closs came up to her, the woman immediately recognized her, taking her to a neighbor’s house to call 911. Jayme was skinny and dirty. She was being held at a house in Eau Claire Acres about seventy miles from her home.
Police have praised the girl’s bravery. If it wasn’t for her escape, her abduction and murder would turn cold. Her abductor had no ties to the family, and his sole interest was for Jayme.
