Drugs. Love. Second Chances.
Kelly Swinson wants to become Anchor, and she cannot resist the lure of the story or the promise of promotion when a series of suspicious overdoses are washing up on the shore of the Rio Grande caused by the new, designer drug, Rapture.
When she learns that her to-good-to-be-true contact is none other than her ex-fiance, Anthony Velasquez, she relives the trauma of heartbreak once more, but the promise of an Anchor position keeps her chasing the truth.
As they get closer to the truth about the overdoses and Rapture, her inner protests are falling, and she begins to secretly hope for the ending that she has craved. But she learned that men cannot be trusted from this very man.
“We’re closed,” the bartender warned. He twisted a dirty rag through a tall, slender glass.
“It doesn’t look that way,” Kelly countered and nodded to the ten men that were in the room before she arrived.
They looked rough, the type of men she didn’t want to be alone with. The stench of alcohol overwhelmed her, pouring out of their pores.
One of them bent over a pool table. He held a long, thin stick in his hand, but he did not hit the white ball that was lined up with several others. His malevolent gaze lingered on her.
“What is this place?” She stood tall, squared her jaw, calling upon bravado, and looked at the bartender.
He ignored her question and turned away, still washing the glass that he held, evidently unwilling to answer her question.
She turned away in frustration, intent on getting answers from someone else.READ MORE
I can’t go back to Paul with nothing. She wasn’t going to let him be right. The citizens of the United States deserved to know the dangers of Rapture and the reason behind the deaths, and she wasn’t going to let officials bury the story as they were apt to do with information concerning the Cartel.COLLAPSE

Larue writes with a crisp and detailed style that adds tension and depth to this novella bringing a modern day hint of Austen’s Persuasion. Can two people who once loved so deeply…ever be truly happy again after so many years apart? And what about her career? There’s plenty of fast paced action in this story about drug dealers, chasing the truth and second chances. And while it’s a little predictable there are enough detours along the way to make it satisfying.

Undercover Desire had my attention from the very first page. It was descriptive, well written and had me flipping through the pages. I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen next. I’d highly recommend this novella to fans of romantic suspense.
Kelly is a reporter who has her mind and heart set on becoming anchor. Nothing will stop her, even when she discovers her first love is involved in the story she is reporting. An action filled novel that gripped my attention from beginning to end! This book had very strong characters, action and love. Kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. Thoroughly recommend this book and hope to read more from this author x
